In order to ease the challenges of coping with sight-loss, we offer many resources:
Peer Counseling and Support: Schedule a one-on-one introductory session with our staff to identify challenges, resources and a way forward.
Publications: Receive our monthly newsletter, The Outlook, and learn about important topics such as new technologies, upcoming events, and issues of interest to the sight-loss community.
Support Group Meetings: Each month our members gather for a friendly and casual meeting to talk about living with sight-loss. View our events calendar and join us during one of our Lunch Bunch meetings or a Nightlight presentation.
Informational Materials: The SLSG office keeps a wide variety of brochures, journals and catalogs that are helpful when choosing the right office to visit or product to order for your specific need.
Referral Services: Contact us today to talk about services offered by other organizations and Pennsylvania that you may be eligible for. Our longstanding relationships with groups such as Blindness and Visual Services and North Central Sight Services are helpful in making your referral as speedy as possible.
Technology Library: We understand that purchasing a product to help make the day-to-day challenges of sight-loss is a big decision and a big investment. Visit The SLSG as often as you'd like to try out our variety of magnifiers, CCTV's (closed circuit televisions), scanners, computer software and more to make sure you are choosing the best assistive technology for you.
Media Library: Members of the Sight-Loss Support Group are encouraged to check out books-on-tape and audio described VHS tapes from our Media Library. We have hundreds of titles for you to choose from and there is never a rental fee!
