The State College HIgh School Thespians present "Once Upon a Mattress" for their popular spring musical. In this musical version of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, "The Princess and the Pea", Princess Winnifred is an ungainly, brash girl competing for the hand of Prince Dauntless, whose domineering mother Queen Aggravain has declared must marry a "true" princess before anyone else in the kingdom can marry. Music is by Mary Rogers, lyrics by Marshall Barer, and book by Jay Thompson, Marshall Barer, and Dean Fuller.
